Position Summary
The Executive Director works in partnership with the board of directors to develop the vision and organizational strategy of the Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Pasco, and provides the leadership and direction to execute against the strategy. The Executive Director implements policies approved by the board, represents the organization in the community, and manages the organization’s programs, operations, and finances.
This is a full-time position, hired by and directly accountable to the board.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with a non-profit organization, including experience with grant application process
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Comfortable with public speaking, networking, and community engagement
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with onboarding and managing personnel
- Understanding of financial principles and systems, including familiarity with QuickBooks, experience with budget creation and tracking, and ability to interpret standard financial reports
Responsibilities
- Work with the board of directors on strategic planning to further the agency’s mission, goals, and long-term objectives.
- Manage the programs and operations of the organization.
- Evaluate programs and recommend improvements to the board of directors.
- Employ, train, supervise, evaluate, and release all employed staff.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of clinic volunteers.
- Prepare and monitor annual operating budget with approval and oversight by the board of directors.
- Oversee the flow of funds to ensure adherence to the budget and progress toward goals.
- Execute contracts and other instruments for services and materials as defined in the approved budget.
- Develop and maintain records and reports on programs and services provided by the organization. Assure that records meet all federal, state, and local compliance standards.
- Prepare periodic management reports (e.g., established goal metrics, numbers of patients seen, number of new patients, etc.) and monitor progress toward clinic objectives.
- Lead fundraising efforts. Secure funding and resources from a broad range of sources, including but not limited to: direct donor contributions, special event fundraisers, and grants.
- Serve as the spokesperson for Good Samaritan by representing the clinic in the community, building relationships and awareness, and advocating for the organization.
- Perform payroll and maintain accurate HR records.
- Ensure that all grants and grant monies are utilized as assigned.
- Ensure the organization remains compliant with all Federal, State, and local regulations (e.g., HIPAA, employment laws, etc.).
- Work with community partners, including hospitals and other non-profits, and government entities to ensure optimal patient outcomes and number of patients served.
- Maintain up to date required Business Licensure (e.g., Pharmacy, Dental, City, Clinical.
- Review Accounts Payable and Receivable and ensure the organization stays current.
- Ensure building safety and maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local codes and standards.
Responsibilities to the Board of Directors
- Keep the board of directors fully informed on the condition of the organization. Report
on status of operations at every board of directors meeting. - Work with the board chair to develop meeting frequency, schedule, and agendas and to
ensure effective and efficient board governance. - Maintain all board records.
- Ensure that the actions of the board are implemented and the results of the actions are reported to the board in a timely and concise manner.
- Support and advise board of directors.
- Perform other duties as directed by the board of directors.
- Work with Community Development Committee to achieve fundraising and public relations goals.
- Work with the Planning and Oversight Committee to establish and track metrics specific to clinic objectives.
