Light of the World Clinic, Inc.
Professional Bio
Sandy L. Barry was born in Colombia, South America and grew up in Chicago, Illinois where she attended Loyola University where she majored in Biology and then worked for Baxter V Mueller, an international biotech firm. In 1988 she moved to South Florida where she began a career in the medical field and soon thereafter started her own medical consulting firm where she consulted for many medical fortune companies.
In 2001, Sandy met Dr. Erwin Vazquez, founder of the Light of the World Clinic, who contracted her to help grow and expand the clinic’s services in the community. Little did Sandy know that this volunteer-based non-profit organization and its charismatic founder would transform her career while tapping into her passion to help those in need.
Over the past 24 years, Sandy has been instrumental in the transformation, growth and success of the 250-300 volunteer roster of physicians, medical staff, medical students and lay-volunteers. She supervises all aspects of the clinic’s operations, financials, grant writing, outreach and compliance duties as deemed necessary by the clinic’s board of directors, grantors, OSHA, and department of health. She is responsible for the development and management of the clinic’s many programs which serves thousands of low-income, medically needy, and uninsured families every year, free of charge. She coordinates the Clinic's outreach activities in the community in addition to providing bilingual case management and referrals for the needs of many indigent families. She also produces Health Fairs throughout the community and volunteers for several special events. She can be seen at numerous charitable events volunteering her time on committees and speaking engagements. Sandy receives satisfaction from helping others and strives for excellence in all the causes that she believes in and takes on.
