GRANT DISBURSEMENTS PROCESSED
Second grant disbursements for the FY 2025–26 grant cycle have been processed. Clinics with ACH set up through Bill.com should expect funds by February 19. Clinics that are not enrolled in ACH will receive a paper check within 5 to 7 business days.
If your clinic is not currently set up for ACH and would like to move to direct deposit, let us know and we will resend your Bill.com enrollment invitation.
WHAT THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION MEANS FOR FREE AND CHARITABLE CLINICS
Legislative sessions shape funding, policy, and operating conditions for free and charitable clinics, often in ways that aren’t immediately visible.
In this week’s blog post, we walk through what’s at stake for clinics this session, why clinic voices and data matter in advocacy conversations, and how Day at the Capitol fits into a broader, year-round strategy.
LEGISLATIVE BUDGET UPDATE
The Florida House has included $1.6 million for FAFCC in its proposed budget, and the Senate has included $350,000. These are important first steps in a tight budget year and reflect growing recognition of the role free and charitable clinics play across Florida.
Now the real work begins. We will be advocating for a fully funded match in the final budget negotiations to ensure clinics receive the level of support needed to meet rising demand. This is the moment for clinics to reach out to your legislators, ask for their support for full funding, and share what this investment will mean for your patients and your clinic.
Thank you to the clinics that joined us in Tallahassee this week to share your stories and advocate on behalf of your patients and communities. We also appreciate everyone who took the time to write letters to our bill sponsors and budget chairs. Let’s keep the momentum going.
NAFC ANNUAL DATA SURVEY
The NAFC Annual Data Survey is now underway, and we would greatly appreciate your partnership in encouraging clinics in your state to participate. The more clinics that complete the survey, the stronger and more accurate our collective national and state-level picture becomes — supporting advocacy, funding opportunities, and storytelling efforts for all of us.
All current and active NAFC members should have already received a welcome email with instructions to log in to the new data survey platform. Please note that this email was sent only to the primary contact listed for each member organization. If an organization did not receive the email or needs assistance accessing the platform, they are welcome to reach out to us.
Any clinic — whether an NAFC member or non-member — can access the survey, create a login, and complete it at the following link:
https://
How to begin the survey once logged in:
- Click on “Survey” at the top of the page or on the graphic in the center.
- Click on “New Survey” in the upper right-hand corner.
Helpful tips for clinics:
- On the first page, be sure to check the box that says “I confirm I’m authorized to make changes to this information” so the fields are no longer greyed out.
- Always click “Save Responses” before clicking “Next” at the bottom of each page.
- Clinics can move between sections using the menu on the upper left-hand side of the page (e.g., Contact Information, Organization Structure, Organization Services, etc.).
WE ASKED—AND YOU ANSWERED
Through multiple focus polls, clinics overwhelmingly shared their interest in learning from industry professionals how to increase fundraising and grant revenue, with the ultimate goal of long-term sustainability.
We’ve been working behind the scenes to answer that call, and we’re excited to introduce a new lineup of educational opportunities.
